Location Strip is a control strip module which allows you to change the Location Manager settings. To use it, drop it in the Control Strip Modules folder inside the system folder and restart.
FEATURES:
･ Switch Via AppleEvents: with this deselected, the front application is not pushed back and forth while switching locations. However, this may not work with certain applications.
･ Show Dialog After Switch: with this deselected, the status dialog does not appear after switching locations.
･ Icons: the module can display a custom icon for each location. To add your own icons:
- Open the module with ResEdit.
- Open the 'ics#' resource, then create a new resource, and draw or paste your icon.
- Get Info on the resource, and change its ID to the next available ID after 256. Change its name to the location name. Make sure you set the ID and name for all of the icon's bitdepths. The name is not case-sensitive.
Currently the module contains icons for these locations: "None (off)", "Work", "Home", "Ethernet", "Infrared", "Modem/Printer", "Internet", as examples. If you have a good icon for a location and can send it to me, I might include it in a future version.
